You must know about laser engraving

For the engraving industry, CO2 lasers named after the gas used to make the light source are the preferred tool. There are many advantages to using a laser compared to other engraving methods; first, because the tool is a beam of light, there is no product contact, which means that the product is less likely to be damaged or deformed. Not long after, the engraving industry noticed lasers, and soon they were used in a variety of industrial applications, including welding, heat treatment, etching and engraving.

Scientists discovered in the early 1960s that they could create a light source, concentrate and have powerful tools to influence certain materials. The name of the light source – LASER, is an acronym for the light amplification of stimulated emission radiation. Sometimes laser marking is called laser etching; unlike conventional etching, laser etching does not require a mask or chemical.

Laser etching is basically just another name for laser engraving. Almost all materials can be laser engraved / laser marked.

The laser is suitable for cutting acrylic [resin glass], PETG, thin polycarbonate [polyester film], styrene expanded polyvinyl chloride [Sintra], wood, paper and fabric. Laser etching provides a permanent message in the process or on the finished component. Laser cutting increases precision, reduces contamination or warpage, and provides high quality surface treatment for industrial cutting applications.

Laser etching is the process of marking materials by using reduced power rather than cutting them all the time. It can be made on many materials including slate, granite, stainless steel, leather, arborite, glass, mirrors and premium hardwood.

Laser marking is also advantageous when the component to be marked is too small or the shape is too complex to mark anything with etching. Laser marking services are available for thousands of applications from computer keyboards to special promotional gifts. Co2 laser and Co2 laser systems can be used to mark and etch glass or quartz. Some items are float glass factory, glass door and window manufacturing, permanent serial number, ANSI safety information, customer identification, decorative or specialty glass manufacturing, manufacturing and factory, production date Data related to the production line and/or part number.

Laser-marked glass is a good complement to many industrial environments and glass marking applications when Co2 lasers are in operation or moving. It is flexible, programmable and environmentally friendly. Co2 lasers provide excellent results for marker glass and can also significantly reduce operating and supply costs.

There are no consumables, so the operating costs are low, and if properly exhausted, the laser system runs clean, so cleaning or product handling is usually required. Laser engraving metal uses maximum power, especially if the metal is a harder type.

Among the many laser engraving products today, iPods and notebooks are among the best in the consumer market. In addition, these engraving services are available in most specialty stores because it is now the most common type of engraving. Laser machines and systems are used in a variety of applications and industries, including medical equipment, aerospace, manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceutical and electronics.
